Upon graduation from a major law school, she took a position in Bakrie Finance Corporation as Corporate Legal, where she represented the company in matters related to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and Bapepam-LK (now, the OJK).

Subsequent to her in-house position, Ms. Gayatri ventured to law practice. She was privileged to have represented a high profile army general and several notable public figures. During her years of practice, she regained an expertise on and understanding of the complicated issues on criminal procedures, family law, as well as real estate and land law.
